Reiki is not a massage or physical bodywork. During an in-person session, Reiki is offered through a series of gentle hand positions that:

Reiki frequency depends on your personal goals, life circumstances, evolution path, and level of support you are seeking. 

The following is the general recommendation of Reiki frequency by Soul Lyra:

• Daily sessions during periods of heartbreak, grief, loss, or sudden emotional disruption for the first 1-2 weeks  

  • Reiki up to 3 to 5 times per week can be supportive if the person feels held, stable, and grounded after 1-2 weeks

  • After that initial acute phase:
    Most people benefit more from 2 to 3 sessions per week, then weekly as you stabilize

• Twice weekly when moving through deep emotional or spiritual transformation

• Weekly sessions for ongoing nervous system support, clarity, and energetic balance

• Monthly sessions for maintenance, grounding, and continued energetic alignment

Pet Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive energy healing practice that supports relaxation, emotional ease, and energetic balance. This promotes calm, comfort, and connection for both pet and owner.  It works with your pet’s natural life- force energy to encourage calm and harmony, without physical manipulation, medication, or medical treatment. Reiki is intended to complement, not replace, veterinary care.

Reiki supports your pet’s overall well-being, including:

For Pet Reiki services, you confirm that:

• Pets will not wear metal collars, tags, harnesses, or accessories during sessions

• Reiki is intended to complement, not replace, veterinary care

• Pets under heavy sedation or extreme distress may require rescheduling

• A calm, quiet environment will be provided

• For Soul Lyra scope-of-practice reasons, pet’s with pacemakers or battery-powered implants are not eligible

• You assume full responsibility for your pet’s care and well-being, during the session and provide the recommended aftercare

Reiki is spiritual and non-denominational

• Is not tied to any religion

• Does not require belief in any spiritual system

Reiki is a complementary wellness practice for people of all backgrounds.

Reiki works with your body’s natural energy whether you believe in it or not. You only need to be open to receiving.

Sharing information is always optional. You’re welcome to share anything you’d like about what you are experiencing, feeling, or intending to work with, but you are not required to disclose medical information in order to receive Reiki.

Important preparation information:

• All metal (glasses, belts, jewelry, etc) must be taken off prior to receiving Reiki

• Anything battery powered and watches must be taken off

Reiki services are not recommended for individuals experiencing:

• Active psychosis, mania, or delusional states

• Severe psychiatric crises, including suicidal idealization or intent

• Severe or acute medical emergencies

• Active infectious or highly contagious conditions

• Impairment due to alcohol or recreational drugs

• For Soul Lyra scope-of-practice reasons, pacemakers or battery-powered implants are not eligible for Reiki

After a Reiki session, it is normal to experience emotional release, deep relaxation, or subtle energetic shifts as your body and nervous system integrate the session. Because Reiki supports energetic rebalancing, some people may notice a temporary shift in energy that can include feelings of sadness, low energy, or mild flu-like sensations when deeper tension or emotional patterns are released.  These responses are typically short-lived and part of the body’s natural adjustment process to energetic alignment.

To support this integration, gentle self care is recommended, including:

• Rest and hydration

• Balanced, nourishing meals

• Proper sleep hygiene

• Light movement such as walking or stretching

• Gentle reflection on energetic shifts, dreams, or emotions

• Journaling or meditation

• Epsom salt baths or foot soaks

Reiki may release emotions or physical tension in both the owner and their pet.
